Think you're funny? Prove it!
Anyone who gets up on stage and tells a joke during the event will receive a full refund of the price of their own ticket.
At the end of each night, our host will choose the Best Joke of the Night. The winner will receive:
- A full refund of their own ticket.
- A full refund for all tickets they personally purchased for that performance for their friends and family.
Weekend Grand Prize
The competition will run over both nights of the Sham Jam Comedy Weekend, with the above prizes awarded on Saturday and Sunday.
From the two nightly winners, one will be crowned Best Joke of the Weekend and will win the opportunity to perform their own stand-up comedy routine at a future comedy night at Melksham Assembly Hall.
Rules
- Tickets must be purchased before the event to be eligible.
- To qualify for the Best Joke of the Night group refund, the person telling the joke must be the original purchaser of the tickets. Only tickets purchased by the winner for that performance are eligible for a refund.
- Refunds apply only to the face value of tickets purchased through the official ticketing system.
- One joke per person, per night.
- The host's decision is final.
- No cash alternative will be offered.
- The number of entries accepted each night is at the discretion of the host and is subject to the time available. While we will do our best to accommodate everyone who wishes to take part, the event schedule may not allow every participant the opportunity to perform.
- The organisers reserve the right to refuse entries that are abusive, discriminatory or likely to cause offence.
- By taking part, you agree to be photographed or filmed as part of the event.
